Daffodils sand Animation attempt

My attempt at sound animation.  our brief this past week was to re-tell a folktale, poem or song using sand or paint-on-glass with metarmorphis or transitions.

So this is what i came up with.

Sand animation practice in class

Yeh, so what we did in class today was to try out sand animation.  we are actually doing sand and paint this week but for the time, we made use of sand.

The technique is pretty much the same with other animation techniques like pixelation and stop motion, but its equally as exciting as well as terrifyingly easy to make a mistake.

The video was something i just put together to show a little of what sand animation is. you'll have to forgive me. but the frames are a little bit slower, but you'll still get the idea

smudge and rub technique

OK, SO THIS WAS MY FIRST ATTEMPT AT ANIMATION.  THIS IS THE SMUDGE AND RUB TECHNIQUE WHERE YOU BASICALLY DRAW AND CLEAN REPEATEDLY WHILE TAKING A PHOTO OF EACH ACTION.  THE CAMERA WAS A BIT SHAKY SO YOU MIGHT EXPERIENCE SLIGHT DIFFICULTIES.

pixilation idea

OK SO, THIS WAS MY ATTEMPT AT PIXELATION.  THE IDEA WAS TO CREATE A SHORT CLIP USING ANYTHING FROM HUMANS TO OBJECTS TO TRY AND TELL A RECENT EVENT.  UNFORTUNATELY I FORGOT TO BE SPECIFIC IN MINE AND IT KINDA LOOKED MORE GENERAL, BUT  YOU STILL GET ITS ABOUT SOCCER.

i didn't have a lot of tools at the time, so i made use of the next best thing.  yes it seems more of stop-motion when you look at the video, that was more a fault of the camera than the director(me).
