Walking Dead dub (Sound Workshop) (+playlist) with Ged haney

Walking Dead dub (Sound Workshop) (+playlist)

So in this post, ill be telling you guys about sound animation.  well basically we had a session today with a sound expert called Ged.  he talked us through what he does and how we can create different sounds to accompany our animations as well as where to find already existing sounds(legal of course).

Ged played a scene from the walking dead for us without the sounds in and we had to notice all the key sounds like heavy breathing and running and the swinging of the bat. then we'd watch it again couple times and think of the right ambience as well as more sounds.  we split into groups of two for this work, i worked with joe dias(very good at editing i must say) and we downloaded the sounds we couldnt make or ambience as it would be from www.freesounds.org , its a very good website for downloading free sounds especially recommended for animators.  the remaining sounds were gathered in a seperate room in the Electric press like the footsteps and cans as well as leaves.

Next up we went  into pro tools( a sound editing app usually used by musicians and sound people in general) and again i must stress that joe(my partner)  is very good at editing.  we set up and started putting the sounds together, i had to leave because i had somewhere to catch but i was pretty sure joe could do it on his own.

What kind of learner are you ?(Late post)

So today in my new Module, "Animation theory"  we learnt a lot of stuff, well firstly what theory is all about.

Theory is basically ideology and what is ideology? Ideology is a view of the world that suits the interests of certain people and why people so certain things

Now what does this have to do with animation? Ideology affects the filming process directly, it's how the director or the artist or scriptwriter or whoever views life that he or she will respond in what they do. A scriptwriter who likes history and governmental issues will be more inclined to produce literary work about the nature of man, or an Artist who is very compassionate, his/her artwork will usually have some kind of story behind them.

So in other words, as an Animator my ideologies are what will affect my choice of design and so on.

We also had to find out what type of learner we are. There are different types of learners, Auditory learners, visual learners, and Hands-on learners. I did a few online tests and I've found out I'm a visual learner, meaning I prefer to see people do stuff or watch presentations and videos and learn that way.

I think that's quite true because I'm not very adept with the hands-on method and auditory method. I prefer someone having a go at something first so I know I won't be making their mistakes.

- Some study tips for visual learners like myself

So basically that's just a summary of Animation theory 1 (Day 1) hope to have more stuff soon. Till then, cheers.

Drawing class 21-2-14

So this is from my last week drawing class. In this class we used charcoal and rubbers(eraser's) to try depict form.

Personally I struggled with this because my idea of light and shade decided to abandon me when I really needed it and I kept on making parts that were supposed to be light dark and vice-versa

We basically darkened a section of our paper for each one and used the rubber to  highlight the parts where light was on the body and also to add stuff that where in the background.

Though I started to understand it with the third drawing but that was the last one for the day. We used half an hour on each. I know I can do this, it's pretty easy, I just had a bad day and I'm gonna try this again soon when I'm done with my animations for my other module.

Drawing class 14-2-14

So this is a late post.  Well basically this is some work from my drawing class we did two weeks back.

What we did here was to try and depict the form in the model. We combined charcoal and ink pens. First few ones were about 30 seconds each then we went to a minute for the last few ones.

Then I personally like these onea with the rotating legs and head where the model kept moving round so it looks like different parts in one

Then finally we did one big piece. I actually did a good job with this.

The model would take any pose and we'd have a minute to get in his form while switching between Graphite and ink. That's why you'll see some darker lines in the picture, those are ink strokes.

Forgot this X_x

Forgot to add this. Stages of a drawing of the weeknd I did earlier. My main Instagram ID is there if you want to follow me on Instagram. My Art Instagram is "_Artst"

Sketches

Just did some stuff to keep myself busy. Nothing particularly exciting going on here but I did learn how to get my proportions a little better with life drawings, like the drawing at the top.

The remaining two are just FanArt I decided to do in rushed time. Like an hour for each...ok maybe a little more Cus I wanted to put in some extra details

Digital paintings I did a while back

Some digital art I did over the holiday, didn't do much as I thought but the new semester looks busy so hopefully I'll have more stuff to show
