So Friday ended my first week back as a second year Animation student. Friday As usual Tom shows up and we talk a little and he's planned for us to go to the Galleries next door. Unfortunately the other part of the plan was for us to take down some sketches but no one really came equipped so we decided to just go and observe
We got to The Gego Art Exhibit a little early as you can see, so we decided to go back to the leeds institute just next to The Electric press and check it out
We get in and observe some of the wildlife ( sculptures of course) I took a few pictures because I doubt i'd come back here for a while.
I'm not really sure what this was again, I think it had something to do with Evolution but I may be wrong.
Oh and I had to get a shot of this because apparently that is a tuna fish. I hardly eat fish so I assume most fish aren't that big but to see this really perplexed me. May have to reconsider my diet now :)........... Or nah
Well after a while in the institute, we left and went back to the Gego Art Exhibit
The Gallery had some really good stuff on show, everything was about line Art and Tom was really specific on it because the lines used there can be incorporated into Traditional and even Digital Sketches which is good for variety.
We saw some more basket craft and woven Materials and they appeared sure complex which threw me off a bit. At this point I have to say that I wasn't really Grabbed by the Art there even though I recognize how Well done everything was. This is just my personal preference.
As you can see the exhibits look Quite Complex but well done and generally Acceptable to the average art lover.
So after a while and some more walking about, we Decide to close early since no one actually came with anything to Draw with. Tom's also told us how the sessions are going to run and there's going to be a lot of observational drawings ( nude models coming in to pose for us and we draw them within the time limit and specific conditions)
Well that's it's for This past week, I'll try to update my blog a little more this Year seeing as it's going to be Very useful, Till next time :).
